Every one is hand made and hand polished to provide you with the finest polished tips you will find. Polished tips burn smoother with no drag, burn cleaner with less carbon build up and they are easier to clean.

NOTE: Nibsburner pens are compatible with all Colwood, Everglades and Optima wood burning systems.

Using Nibsburner Handpieces on other Brands of Burners

The photo above shows a sample of the Nibsburner Fixed-tip Pen. Notice that their connection is different than Razertip and Detailmaster so be sure you have a compatible cord if you are using Nibsburner pens on one of these wood burning systems or if you are using a Razertip or Detailmaster pen on a Nibsburner wood burning system. You will also need a different cord to use a Nibsburner pen on Detailmaster power units. A compatible cord for use with Detailmaster or Razertip burners is available on the Nibsburner main page.

Nibsburner offers 4 different styles of wood burning Pen, depending on the type of burn wanted but because the fixed-tip Pen are more sturdy and provide the best strength and performance I only personally use, recommend and sell fixed-tip Pen. All Nibsburner's Pen are vented to allow internal air flow for cooler wood burning, and have a comfortable cork finger grip.

About Nibsburner's Tips

Nibsburner offers over 40 tips in two different styles, removable tip and fixed-tip
for all your pyrographic needs. Whether you are a woodburner
or a pyrographer wanting affordable flexibility, the Nibsburner replaceable tips are for you. Each wood burning tip manufactured by Nibsburner is made with the pyrographer in mind. Hand crafted, razor sharp and polished.

Nibsburner's fixed-tips are soldered into the vented wood burning Pen. This allows the tip to maintain the desired heat during heavy, continuous use. Tip heat recovery is almost instantaneous. No oxidation on the tips, means no corrosion.

Tips will last longer using a lower temperature. Nibsburner recommends using a 3 or 4 setting on the Nibsburner system dial. Reoccurring high temperatures will decrease the life of the tip.

Nibsburner's double beveled chisel tips are excellent for all general pyrography including long straight lines of quills, gentle curving lines on feather barbs, and fine details on miniatures. For all wood burning on wood, gourds and leathers.

Using Nibsburner (and other brands) Handpieces on Other Brands of Pyrography Systems

I DO NOT recommend using Razertip, Optima, Colwood or Nibsburner wood burning pens on a Detailmaster or older model Burnmaster woodburner unless you use a lower heat setting. Razertip requires an adaptor (that comes with the Burnmaster burner) and I have been getting lots of complaints over the years from Razertip users (me included when I used to sell Burnmaster) of the pens and adaptors getting hot (normal when using an adaptor) and burning out the pens. I have also seen other brands of pens literally melt down in front of my eyes in my classes when used on these burners. Note: if you have a Burnmaster unit that has been manufactured in the last year it comes with micro-adjustable maximum power (1-volt - 3-volts) and can be adjusted to accommodate pens manufactured for 2 volt systems.

Fixed-Tip Handpieces

I recommend and primarily sell fixed-tip pens, which are recommended for general pyrography use. Replaceable-tips are normally recommended for only intermittent light use such as for enhancing carvings.

Since I started selling Nibsburner in 2009, they have been working with me to make my favorite pen styles including:

• Bent Spear Shaders (5BSM & 5BSSM). Just like my original bent spear shaders
• Small spear for fine detail work such as on gourds (5NS & 5NSS). Very popular with gourd artists and those working on miniatures such as tagua nuts.
• Blunt-heel knife (KN14B & 14 BM). These are similar to the 14D I developed with Razertip & 14SM
• Micro writer (#4M). Very much like the 9P that Razertip made for me.

Pen Tip Styles I Carry and Special Orders

I don't carry all the Nibsburner pen tip styles, but I carry the most popular tip styles. After over 10 years of selling pyrography tools I have refined my inventory based on sales. I just don't have the room to carry tip styles that sit on the shelves year after year and don't sell.
